Purple #1 Feminized (Dutch Passion)
Purple #1 is a world-famous classic purple strain from Dutch Passion, whose origins date back to the early 1980s. From the very beginning, it gained enormous recognition thanks to its extremely impressive purple coloration and powerful, characteristic effects. Over the years, it has been used by many other seed banks as a base for creating additional purple varieties, but the original Purple #1 from Dutch Passion remains a true classic.
The strain is a balanced 50% Sativa and 50% Indica hybrid. Part of the Indica genetics comes from a special purple Afghani variety that was carefully crossed in the Netherlands with the best Sativa and Indica genetics. The goal was to create a strong outdoor strain perfectly adapted to the Dutch climate.
Purple #1 provides fairly good yields of around 250–350 grams per plant. The flowers quickly develop red-purple coloration, and the buds become covered with sticky, sweet red leaves giving the plant an exceptionally decorative appearance.
The plants usually reach between 1.5 and 2.5 meters in height and are intended exclusively for outdoor or greenhouse cultivation. The strain matures relatively quickly, making it an attractive choice for growers looking for a fast outdoor strain.
The leaves often resemble classic Sativa leaves in appearance and additionally impress with their intense purple color. For more than 30 years, Purple #1 has maintained a loyal fan base and still remains one of the most characteristic purple strains on the market.
Purple #1 produces sticky, resinous flowers delivering a fast and powerful effect. The high is not particularly long-lasting, but it makes up for this with its quality. The effect is more joyful and energetic than heavily sedating, while the aroma remains slightly raw, subtle, and fresh.
