THCjd. A natural, potent cannabinoid.

We invite you to read about THCjd. It will take you about 7 minutes.

The world of cannabis research is evolving even while we sleep. THCjd was added to the list of cannabinoids discovered in 2020.

To date, approximately 113 cannabinoids have been identified, some of which have already been thoroughly studied, but in the case of THCjd, we rely mainly on speculation.

Two things have been determined. Tetrahydrocannabinoid (THCjd) has an eight-alkyl carbon chain. (The alkyl side chain in THC consists of five atoms, THCP of seven; most cannabinoids discovered so far have a bond consisting of five carbon atoms.)

The discoverers of THCjd estimated that it is approximately 18-19 times more potent than THC, placing it roughly halfway between THC and THCP (30 times more potent than THC).

Natural.

You may have heard of THC0 or HHC, which appeared in the United States some time ago. We'll describe them in more detail in separate articles, but for now, suffice it to say that these are synthetic phytocannabinoids. Unlike them, THCjd is a completely natural cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. Like Delta-8-THC (THC with a double carbon bond located on the eighth carbon atom. The standard, familiar and predominant form in plants is Delta-9THC, in which the double bond is located on the ninth carbon atom), THCjd occurs in plants in small concentrations.

But still, it's combined... ;)

Producers would have to process huge quantities of raw material to obtain a product rich in THCjd, as it constitutes only 1% of the total composition of the cannabis plant, which would directly translate into a sky-high selling price. Therefore, the THCjd present in retail products is the result of the isomerization of another cannabinoid (in this case, CBD).

Cannabinoid conversion often occurs naturally, for example, when lighting a joint or bong, where heat converts non-psychoactive THC into psychoactive THC.

We know that we know nothing.

Unfortunately, THCjd is virtually untested. We don't even have the results of animal tests, and in reality, everything is based on speculation. Adverse reactions and side effects have not been verified, and even the name of its discoverer is unknown. This powerful and mysterious cannabinoid, with its eight-linked alkyl side chain, binds perfectly to the CB1 receptor – one of the two receptors in the human body's endocannabinoid system. Additionally, THCjd has a stronger affinity (preference) for the CB1 receptor than THC, because THCjd has an alkyl side chain with eight carbon atoms, while THC only has five. That's all we really know for sure.

Lack of research, but no lack of demand.

THCjd is rapidly gaining popularity in countries and states where recreational marijuana use is legal. Due to a lack of medical research, there's currently no chance of introducing products to pharmacies and holistic medicine clinics (e.g., in Germany, Mexico, the Amazon, and many other places around the world), but recreational products follow completely different rules.

The passage of time and the development of research suggest that we are in for a boom in cannabinoid-based products in various combinations and ratios. For example, combining THCjd with Delta-8-THC would be an incredible blend of potency and mildness. Delta-8-THC has identical effects to Delta-9-THC (the commonly known THC), but significantly weaker side effects.

Actions and side effects. Presumed...

THCjd users report that its effects resemble the high of the strongest indica strains. A wave of euphoria flooding the entire body, smoothly transitioning into deep relaxation and a sense of peace, are the primary experiences described. There are also descriptions of strongly psychoactive, even psychedelic, experiences.

The benefits of THCjd, according to all signs, should be similar to those offered by THC. These include:

- pain reduction and alleviation

- neuroprotective properties

- reducing the symptoms of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)

- increasing appetite

- anti-inflammatory properties

- minimizing nausea

- helping to treat the disease and symptoms of multiple sclerosis

- better sleep and regulating the circadian rhythm

- relaxing tension in the body and mind, and many others.

Similarly, the negative effects will also be similar to those of THC.

- dry mouth

- red eyes

- increased heart rate

- anxiety

- psychosis

- visual disturbances

- memory loss

- nausea from excessive doses.

IN SUMMARY.

THCjD is one of the most recently discovered cannabinoids, already available in the United States. When will it reach the European market as a finished product? It's hard to even speculate. It's important to remember that we don't yet have any studies confirming the safety of using high doses of synthetic THCjD. Naturally, it only constitutes 1% of the plant's composition, which raises concerns about the concentrations our body will perceive as excessive. Nature itself is a wise creation; tweaking it isn't always beneficial. Therefore, we can only wait for specific studies to be conducted, which, while they certainly won't provide all the answers, will certainly at least shed some light on these questions.

Best regards, Hemp!
